This Red-Tailed hawk is blind in one eye and is in the permanent care of a wildlife rehabilitator. A partially blind bird of prey could not survive in the wild.

An alert Barred Owl. This owl had been injured in the wild and is now in the care of wildlife rehabilitators.

These are two primary flight feathers from a macaw. One side is blue and the other yellow. They were naturally shed during molting season, which explains why they aren\'t in perfect condition. What appears to be spottiness is actually wear and tear on the feathers.

This is a wild pheasant. The picture was made on a dark, rainy day. ISO was set to 400 and I could still only get a shutter speed of 1/60. I tweaked the saturation level of the background down a bit to help the colors of his feathers stand out more

This is a male Eider Duck. The Eider is a sea duck famous for its soft down. Taken in Gloucester, Massachusetts (US).

The distinctive heart-shaped face of the Barn Owl directs sound to the hunter\'s ears. It uses its hearing to hunt its prey. The fuzzy trailing edges of its wings allow the owl to fly silently.

The Bald Eagle is the national symbol of the United States of America. What is surprising is that this majestic bird was almost hunted and polluted out of existense.
